Hello family and friends, welcome to our wedding website. Here you’ll find everything you need to know about our special day. We’re so excited to celebrate with the people we love most. We can’t wait to see you all!
Alex & Claudia

Our Story

February 2019
Syracuse, New York
Where It All Began
Alex and Claudia both attended Syracuse University from 2015 to 2019, somehow never crossing paths until the spring of senior year. It took one off-campus basement rave, a mutual friend, and perfect timing for their story to finally begin.

March 2019
Syracuse, New York
Their First Date
For their first official date, Alex introduced Claudia to Vietnamese iced coffee and one of his favorite restaurants just outside Syracuse. They shared oversized plates, flirted beneath fluorescent lights, and unknowingly started a tradition of bonding over great food.

March 2019
Syracuse, New York
Forever or Never
Music became one of the first languages they shared. Alex created a collaborative Spotify playlist where songs quietly said the things words couldn’t yet. Claudia jokingly named it Forever or Never—a title that turned out to be far more prophetic than either of them expected.

September 2019
New York, New York
Finding Their Way
After graduation, Alex moved to New York City, and Claudia followed a few months later. While each was figuring out life in a new city, they kept finding their way back to one another, connected by an invisible string neither of them could ignore.

March 2020
Chelsea, New York
Falling in Love
Just as the world shut down, Alex and Claudia made things official. Between long drives from Pennsylvania, bike rides through Central Park, and late-night conversations in a tiny Chelsea apartment, they fell deeply in love during an unforgettable chapter of life.

April 2021
Williamsburg, New York
Almost Neighbors
As New York came back to life, Alex moved just four blocks from Claudia’s apartment in Williamsburg. They spent countless evenings cooking dinner, dancing in the kitchen, wandering the neighborhood, and realizing just how naturally their lives fit together.

October 2022
Chicago, Illinois
A New Adventure
Ready for a fresh start, Alex and Claudia packed up their Brooklyn lives and headed to Chicago. Thanks to Claudia’s social media savvy and Alex’s photography skills, they even managed to score half off their moving costs—a win they’ll never stop laughing about.

October 2022
Chicago, Illinois
A Place to Call Home
With Alex’s determination and Heidi’s sharp eye, they found the apartment that instantly felt like home. Together they learned how to build a life as partners, roommates, dinner hosts, and teammates in a city they quickly came to love.

October 2022
Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
Ziggy & Suki
Only weeks after settling into Chicago, Alex and Claudia welcomed Ziggy and Suki into their home and hearts. What began with two tiny kittens quickly became a family of four, bringing endless joy, shared responsibility, and a whole lot of love.

November 2025
Chicago, Illinois
The Proposal
After hosting Thanksgiving in their home, Alex suggested one last outing before the weekend ended. Following a snowy lunch, they returned home where he proposed on the front stoop of the apartment that had become the backdrop to so many of their favorite memories. The celebration waiting inside made the day even sweeter.

Travel & Stay
We’re so grateful you’re making the trip to celebrate with us. Below you’ll find everything you need to plan your visit—from where to stay to how to get around. We can’t wait to welcome you to one of our favorite places.
GETTING HERE

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
60-75 minutes from Doylestown
Our recommended airport with the most nonstop flights and rental car options.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
75-90 minutes from Doylestown
Another great option for guests traveling from farther away, with extensive domestic and international flights.

Trenton–Mercer Airport (TTN)
30–35 minutes from Doylestown
A smaller airport with limited nonstop service, but a convenient option if it works for your itinerary.
GETTING AROUND
Doylestown is best explored by car. We recommend renting a vehicle if you’re flying in, though rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are readily available throughout the weekend.
WHERE TO STAY

Things We Love
COFFEE & BREAKFAST
RESTAURANTS

MUSEUMS & HISTORY
PARKS & NATURE
Miles of walking trails, beautiful lake views, kayaking, and plenty of places for a picnic.
A peaceful garden filled with native Pennsylvania wildflowers and woodland trails.
Perfect for a scenic walk or bike ride along the Delaware River.
IF YOU HAVE EXTRA TIME
If you’re making a weekend of it, we highly recommend spending some time exploring Doylestown and the surrounding Bucks County area. From historic museums and charming cafés to riverside strolls and small-town shopping, there’s so much to discover beyond the wedding festivities.
Henry Mercer’s extraordinary concrete castle filled with handcrafted Moravian tiles and one-of-a-kind architecture. We couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else.
A fascinating museum showcasing early American tools, craftsmanship, and Mercer’s incredible collections.
Watch handmade tiles being created using techniques developed over a century ago—a must for anyone interested in art, architecture, or design.
EXPLORE
Spend an afternoon wandering the walkable downtown filled with boutiques, bookstores, coffee shops, galleries, and historic architecture.
A charming village of locally owned shops, restaurants, gardens, and seasonal displays. It’s one of our favorite places to spend a leisurely afternoon and is especially beautiful in late summer.
Just 20 minutes away, New Hope is one of the most vibrant towns in Bucks County. Wander along the Delaware River, browse art galleries and boutiques, enjoy live music, and grab dinner or drinks overlooking the water.
The Venue

Built between 1908 and 1912, Fonthill Castle is the former home of Henry Chapman Mercer —archaeologist, collector, and founder of the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works. More than a historic home, it’s a monument to handmade craftsmanship and imaginative design. We were drawn to its artistry from the very beginning, and we’re so grateful to celebrate this weekend within its walls.
MEET HENRY MERCER

Henry Chapman Mercer (1856–1930) was an archaeologist, historian, artist, and one of America’s most influential tilemakers. At a time when handcrafted objects were being replaced by industrial manufacturing, Mercer devoted his life to preserving traditional craftsmanship. His passion shaped not only his own remarkable home, but much of Doylestown itself.

These three buildings all exist because of Henry Mercer and remain some of Bucks County’s most treasured landmarks.

WHY WE CHOSE
FONTHILL...
We were immediately drawn to Fonthill because it feels unlike anywhere we’ve ever been. It’s whimsical yet historic, grand yet deeply personal, filled with handmade details that reward curiosity. As two people who care deeply about art, storytelling, and thoughtful design, it felt like the perfect place to begin our marriage.

FUN FACTS

Mercer Museum houses over 50,000 artifacts.
Many were collected personally by Mercer to preserve disappearing crafts and trades.

Fonthill was designed without formal blueprints.
Much of the castle evolved organically during construction.

Mercer was an archaeologist before he was a tilemaker.
He traveled extensively and collected objects that inspired the architecture throughout Fonthill.

Henry Mercer designed thousands of handmade tiles.
Many of the decorative tiles throughout the castle were made just down the road at the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works.

The castle is built almost entirely of poured concrete.
A remarkably unconventional building technique for the early 1900s.
